The Israel PTO just announced that its patent electronic filing system and the patent database will be offline tomorrow, April 28, from 07:00 to 13:00.
When they tried this in September 2023, they said the system would offline from midnight to 10:30. But it wasn't ready by the appointed hour. Wasn't back online the following day either.
No, it took them nearly five days to get the system up and running again.
And that was only for electronic filing, not the database too. That database, by the way, now constitutes the official register of the ILPTO.
As of this writing, we still don't know what changes are supposed to be implemented – that will be revealed to us a few minutes from now.
Still, the Israel has yet to screw up its IT systems as badly as the USPTO has screwed up both its patent and trademark filing and search systems. Let us hope that statement remains true even after the forthcoming changes.
